Welcome Max to the group! Having grown up and studied in Mexico, we are thrilled about the scientific, cultural, and hopefully culinary experiences that Max brings to our team. Max is a Ph.D. student in the Materials Science & Nanoengineering department at Rice University. He obtained his B.S. in Nanotechnology Engineering from the Polytechnic University of the Valley of Mexico in June 2024. As an Opportunity Funds 2023-2024 alumnus and a CONAHCYT fellow, Max has a strong academic background. His previous research focused on nanotechnology-based wearable devices, and he will now concentrate on developing in vitro platforms for neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease.

Max’s research journey is both impressive and inspiring. His work on nanotechnology-based wearable devices has already showcased his ability to innovate and push the boundaries of science. Now, as he shifts his focus to in vitro platforms for neurological disorders, we are excited to see the groundbreaking advancements he will bring to our lab. Max’s expertise in nanotechnology and his passion for addressing complex medical challenges make him a valuable addition to our team. We are confident that his contributions will significantly impact our research and help us achieve new milestones.

Outside the lab, Max enjoys a variety of hobbies that keep him active and creative. He loves swimming, playing video games (especially RPGs and single-player story games), playing the piano, and editing videos. These interests not only provide a well-rounded balance to his academic pursuits but also bring a unique perspective to our group. We are excited to see how Max’s diverse interests and expertise will contribute to our group’s dynamic and innovative environment. Welcome aboard, Max!
