The Tringides Lab is thrilled to welcome Yimeng Xu to our group! Yimeng is an incoming fourth-year undergraduate at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), majoring in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics. Her broad research interests lie at the intersection of physics and biomedicine. She’s particularly interested in applying physical tools to biomedical challenges and exploring the biophysical mechanisms of diseases—especially those related to cancer and neuroscience.
During her six-month stay in the lab, she’ll be working on hydrogel-based in vitro microstructured platforms to better quantify and understand neuron–glioblastoma interactions. Outside of the lab, she enjoys running, playing the piano, singing, spending time with friends and family, and trying new flavors, always eager to explore and learn something new!
We also had the pleasure of celebrating Yimeng’s 21st birthday shortly after her arrival, so we celebrated in our characteristic cupcake fashion!
Welcome Yimeng, we’re so glad to have your talent on board!
