Our group just keeps on growing! Joining our multidisciplinary cohort is Kat Rosner, a first year Ph.D. student in the Bioengineering department. Kat graduated from Rice University in 2024 with a Biosciences major, learning from her research experience in hydrogel-embedded astrocyte platforms will be invaluable for our group! As if her background wasn’t impressive enough, her research will be co-advised by Dr. Jacob Robinson (whose lab is also in the Rice Neuroenginering Initiative) , she’ll explore the field of cell-based therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. Kat always brings an enthusiastic attitude to our meetings and lab sessions, which is a core attribute in all of our members. Along with her kindness, Kat also brings exciting ideas to everyone’s research proposals, galvanizing us to always think a bit further! We’re grateful to have such a valuable team member as Kat, here’s to the beginning of a successful journey in both labs!
