We’re excited to welcome Paul Kim to the Tringides lab! Paul is a Ph.D. student in the Materials Science and Nanoengineering department at Rice University. He graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University and has experience working as a research assistant at Baylor College of Medicine, focusing on nano and microparticle systems as well as implantable surgical devices. After his first set of lab rotations at Rice, Paul found that his research interests matched not one, but two research groups!  Now, Paul’s multidisciplinary research will be centered around combining in-vitro and biosensing platforms, being co-advised along with Dr. Scott Keene, he is sure to make remarkable contributions to the neuroengineering field!

Besides from being a great scientist, Paul loves to cook and bake (especially sweets!), and he’s always on the lookout for new bakeries to try. He also enjoys playing the cello, volunteering, and is all about trying new things at least once. We’re thrilled to have him on the team and we’re eager to work alongside him. Please join us in giving Paul a warm welcome!
