During the Fall 2024 semester, the lab saw its first batch of rotating students! Though it was not yet fully operational, each of them contributed to setting up equipment for the lab. We shared our first subgroup meetings with them, where we discussed important topics regarding materials science and current work being done in the neuroengineering field. Their bright ideas and contributions filled these meetings with a fun and dynamic atmosphere from which we learned much from! Some of these students joined our lab (we’re lucky to have them!), for those who found their match with different groups at Rice, we wish them the best in their academic journeys, and we hope to hear more from them! (Cramped elevator group photos are attached for reference!)

The list of the rotating students (along with their departments) is as follows:

  • Lanie McLeod  – Applied Physics
  • Sofia Hernandez – Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
  • Mia Cano – Applied Physics
  • Nicole Baalbaki – Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
  • Erin Shen – Bioengineering
  • Siamalan Krishnathas – Bioengineering
  • Jeremy Levine – Bioengineering
  • Jeeho Sim – Bioengineering
  • Paul Kim – Materials Science & Nanoengineering
