On November 20 , the office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies held the annual “Take the Cake” ceremony, where graduate students are awarded with a large amount of calories in cake presentation for winning fellowships! Our very own Mia Cano (NSF Fellowship) and Max Paxtian (CONAHCYT Graduate Fellowship) got their respective cakes for their recently awarded fellowships, and we were glad to split the calories with them! After a large amount of cake was eaten by all of us (and even strangers), we had a very engaging and creative group meeting. We look forward to attending future ceremonies for any of our group members who applied / will apply for fellowships. In the meantime, congratulations to Mia and Max! Very much well deserved!
